Why hyaluronic acid is the most critical component in your skin

March 13, 2022

We do not want to select the favorites from the skincare gang, but hyaluronic acid is definitely at the top of the gang if we had to. For virtually anyone, it is a must-have component. It’s probably already in at least one of your face care products every day. Otherwise, it should be. Although this powerful component is highly mentioned in the circles of beauty care, we wouldn’t blame you for not understanding precisely what hyaluronic acid is and why it is necessary to apply it to your skin generously. We can see, especially if you seek something moisturizing but stick with us, the term “acid” may sound like a Red Flag: it’s the opposite of abrasive.

Hyaluronic Acid, What is it?

Hyaluronic acid is a water-retaining molecule naturally occurring in the body, and it retains humidity in places such as skin to stay flexible, sumptuous, and juvenile. The more age we mature, the less naturally our bodies generate. So, you have to upgrade it. Apart from dry, haggard skin? Yeah, we haven’t believed that way. Well, that’s the easy response. But hyaluronic acid accomplishes so much more…

Why is your skin so unique with hyaluronic acid?

Where do we start?! Where do we start? Hyaluronic acid has a variety of advantages for the skin (and even the body). Dr. Howard Murad M.D., creator of Murad Skin Care, dermatologist, a trained pharmacist, and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, states, “Hyaluronate Acid (HA) is an excellent humectant drawing essential humidity to the surrounding skin. There are also its powers to counteract aging. When your skin is dehydrated, it becomes clearer how memorable lines and wrinkles seem and feel and what helps prevent dehydration quickly? Hyaluronic acid, yep. Yep. Its moisture-attractive nature helps bridge the gaps between collagen and elastin binding fibers, replenishing the skin’s appearance. See, it wasn’t a real skincare hero we kidded.

In our skin, how does hyaluronic acid work?

“As each hyaluronic acid molecule can maintain its weight up to 1000 times in water, it provides topical hydration with the continued water supply necessary to keep skin flattened and smooth and well hydrated,” explains Murad. One gram of hyaluronic acid may store up to six liters of water to put this status into perspective. Insane!

How essential is the importance of hyaluronic molecular Acid

We often discuss hyaluronic acid, but it occurs in different weights that impact how it functions. Small molecules are the low-weight hyaluronic and can hydrate and repair collagen more deeply in the skin. High-weight hyaluronic are larger, superficially plump skin molecules that remain on the skin’s surfaces. The middle ground is covered by medium-weight hyaluronic. The mix of these three will offer you the best overall dehydration defense. Unfortunately, most HA products do not inform you of hyaluronic acid molecular weight. Still, happily, some start specifying which way we recommend keeping a watch on any product lowdowns for mention of weight.
